I have an Ammonia Remover from Top Fin (PetSmart brand) that I haven't used for 11 months... I just bought it, never used.

I have this dechlorinator but its dosing is small, 2 drops for 1 gallon. The bottle for the ammonia remover is perfect for the job. The problem is, can I use the dechlorinator inside the ammonia remover bottle?

I've rinsed it thouroghly, filling and emptying the bottle with tap water at least 30 or so times. I also let it sit for 2 hours twice. I'm concerned because it still smells like the ammonia remover....

I don't understand why it's necessary, but I do have a suggestion: fill it with vinegar overnight and then add baking soda in the morning, rinse it several times, and then see if it smells like the ammonia remover.

Make sure you label the bottle with the new contents to avoid future errors:)
