| The topic "Only two Neon Tetras" seems to have been the hot topic and is refered to frequently. That was my sister's neon tetras and now I want my Honey Gourami feel more secure so... I'm going to move them into my 10 gallon tank. Not only will the Honey Gourami benefit, the neons can actually get some food without being out-competed. Can I keep a school of 6 neons, 1 Honey Gourami, and 3 pandas in a 10 gallon? Will any problems like food stealing or aggression arise by adding the neons? MOA's spreadsheet filtration potential has 80% left with my cleaning schedule and plants... it also recommended 7 gallons because of space leftover.

| Hmm... If you err on the side of caution I'd say just go with the neons and the cories. But I trust MOA's spreadsheet, and I know you'll be diligent enough to care for them. Just eyeball that gourami to make sure that he's not scaring the tetras just by his sheer size in comparison to them.

| I didn't get the neons yet... Guess what Nikita? I GOT RED CHERRY SHRIMP!!! I have a bit of java moss, some cotton or the like as a moss imitation and moved the ghost shrimp to the 28 gallon to prevent any consuming of juvenile newborn shrimp. These guys will not breed like rabbits, rather just be easy to breed. One of them is pregnant already. I got them for $1 each... SO CHEAP!! Oh yeah, and MOA's favorite silent cycler, Hornwort. I've been talking about it a lot and recommending it but now I actually have it!

| you got red cherry shrimp oh you're so lucky ;; *sniffle* And the "female shopping bargain hunter" in me is going just nuts over you getting such a good deal on 'em! The aquarium store that will stock 'em when I get settled into college takes $4.50 for them. Partially because they're red cherry shrimp, and partially becaue shipping anything up there is a pain. See, there's a reason why college kids are stereotyped as always being poor! We're always spending our money on something...in my case, shrimp. >_> And congrats on the hornwort. Just keep an eye on it, because if it doesn't like your water it will drop its leaves in protest and make a humongous mess. If you have an earthy substrate like mine, it's no problem, but it can look grubby on gravel. Any shedding should quit once the plant gets established. Enjoy your new acquisitions! I'm jealous. :)

| ahaha thanks. I saw one cherry shrimp eating some tiny algae on the hornwort. My water has a pH of 7.6, DH 12, and 2.8 wpg.... I use a DIY CO2 system and fertilizer. I won't be worried about it; it could live without any of these (besides the light). I'm such a bargain hunter... I happened to have store credit and it had a 50% sale on all livestock (besides feederfish). It's originally $2 but that's still pretty cheap. What do you want me to ship it to you? But my parents would probably look at me and scold me :P

| I can just imagine the looks on their faces. ;) Hornwort always grew well in my tanks, but tended to get more...compact, I guess. Shortened leaves and distances in between stems. I don't know what exactly makes it do that; some difference in my water, but I never researched exactly what. I'm looking forward to pictures of the setup. :)
