So I have a 10 gallon tank with community fish, a balloon molly, a guppy, a mickey mouse swordtail, a sunburst platy, and an endler's livebearer. Can you recommend harmless fish that don't cost to much and look pretty? I might take those ideas and think it over. (Might even buy them and put it in my tank if it is okay.) I just want something to light up my 10 gallon. Oh and maybe some recommendation of plants too. Thanks :)

pH 7.6

DH 12

1.7 wpg

no fert, or CO2

You forgot to mention your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate readings. Also, what is your feeding schedule? Have you checked with the spreadsheet? Have you looked in the pinned topics for the 10-gallon stocking list?

Check and see if the spreadsheet tells you that you have ANY room left over - with swordtails and platies in the mix, you'll be dangerously close to overstocking that tank.

So far as plants that will handle 1.7 wpg, there aren't that many.  Go with Java fern, Java moss, and anubias species.

Math - only aquarium is correct - You are getting to the point similar to placing 5 people in a 5x5 bathroom - and one toilet for 5 or so days - you have the ability to hold your nose and break the door down to escape - - if the toilet is overflowing from over - use - unlike your aquabuddies - who have to swim around in their limited toilet space - with no door to break down if it gets bad .... give'em some breathing room -
