It is helpful to keep them in trios like livebearers b/c the male is too distracted w/ the females to pay much attention to the other male.

RE: Finnage

<A class=SmlBoldLinks id=_ctl1__ctl0_ctlTopic__ctl0_ctlPanelBar_ctlTopicsRepeater__ctl6_smAuthorName onmouseover="window.status = window.location;return true;" title="View jsmith11618's Profile..." onmouseout="window.status='';return true;" href="void('');">jsmith11618 - really ?? The opaline is a variation of the blue gourami, a pretty violent gourami. You can either stuff the tank with gouramis as to removing any space for territory OR get rid of one of the gouramis.
Tiger barbs are always tempted to nip something. Keeping around 8 will make it stop a bit but expect to see some more nipping. The others will keep themselves busy but some are bound to go wandering off and nip long-flowing finned fishes.

RE: Finnage

[quote]FattFishy (9/6/2008)
Keeping your water quality in top shape will allow it to grow back.

What fish were nipping the fins? They are doing fine in a 10 gal with two odessa barbs. The black angel suffered quit an experience with the dorsal and the tail being nipped pretty bad. The dwarf gourami only suffered minor tail fin nipping.

My question is do the fins grow back?
