| I have a 180 gallon twin overflow reef tank for 6 yrs. It's been great but about a year ago I picked up bubble algae from a pc of coral that I purchased. Since then I gone threw about 20-30 emerald crabs. I took all my rock out pressure washed it and still can't get rid of this algae. I'm to the point of just letting it go. Any suggestions are welcome Thanks Chris

This is the Introductions forum, so your post would be better suited to the Saltwater forum. So welcome to FishChannel, and when your post is moved you'll likely get more replies to it. Good luck.

Have you tried focusing on keeping a tighter control on your nutrient levels?
ie:
reset your skimmer to increase waste extraction, or upgrading your skimmer
replace/rinse your mechanical filtration more frequently
increase the amount and/or frequency of change of your chemical filtration
introducing competitive algae/livestock(cheato, caulerpa, mangroves) via a fuge
cutting down on light in the main system and increasing the light on your fuge, if one is in place already.
keeping a tight watch on your source water for water changes
upgrading to a DI add on to your RO if you dont use one already
cut back on feeding's
perhaps introducing a one micron canister filter to help control the spread of the algae.
introducing a uv sterilizer, or making sure you change out the uv bulbs regularly and checking that the flow rate going through your sterilizer is where it should be.
