I noticed that some of my Ghost Shrimp are pretty fat with little green eggs. I looked them up, and most sites say they will breed readily in an aquarium, as long as they are in sufficient numbers. They also say they will not likely survive unless there is a lot of plant detritus in the tank to support microorganisms, or you feed them rotifers. Am I likely to be able to expect baby shrimp without doing anything? I do have live plants in the tanks that the shrimp are in, so there should be some plant detritus, but not a great deal because of water changes.

| I have had a few hatch out and survive,but not in big numbers,maybe 1 or 2 out of ten,cause I keep my tank pretty clean,maybe if you want to hatch out alot there is something you can do,but I don't know alot about their breeding and feeding the young ones,good luck,catch ya later;)

I'm not trying to breed them for a reason, they just already have a lot of eggs, and I definitely wouldn't be opposed to them breeding. A free supply of live shrimp is just what my tire track eel would love!
