Does anyone have one of these machines?  I am looking for some feedback on this unit, it looks pretty cool. But does it work?  I have a 90gl reef tank with 3-6 inches of substrate.  I have contacted the company about their machine and naturally they say it works well, but can anyone provide me w/ any hands-on comments?

I use Natures Ocean Substrate which has material from 1.00-2.5mm in diameter, but the kind of substrate doesn't matter.  I am looking for feedback from someone besides the mfg.

Do you own this machine?  Know anyone that does?  If so, please comment.

I'm not familiar with it but reading about it my thought was that it might not work with very fine sand, which is why I asked. I seriously doubt you are going to find anyone here who has one or has used one...there are about four or five experienced saltwater aquarists here and most of them aren't around much if at all anymore. I do my best to help out but I am no expert. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

Hailey,  I have noticed you seem to be the "most commented" person, it great that you are trying to help best you can.  I see the value in trying to keep existing members to the site as well as trying to attract newcomers.  I am no expert either, but I do like to help when I can.  This machine like I said looks cool, but how well does it work w/ a "sandy" substrate.  I did speak to the mfg. and they stated it does come w/ a sand pre-filter that should work.  But I was hoping to find someone who actually uses the machine for saltwater applications.  Thanks again for your comments.;)

Not really sure why you would want to vacuum substrate in a saltwater tank to start with. If you have live rock/live sand, the infauna/bacteria in the sand bed will be taking of detritus by breaking it down for you. Vacuuming the substrate deprives these populations of needed food and upsets the biological balance. If the system is a fish only with no live rock/sand then vacuuming would be necessary.

So many species, so little money!
