Stirring the gravel prior to a water change can help with a lot of the sediment.

Yea, but I need to clean the gravel really bad. I can do water changes, but I can't clean the gravel.

I use airline tubing all by itself for my betta's 2.5g. Works just like a regular siphon.

Until then, some airline tubing attached to a venturi adaptor works pretty well for small tanks, or you could just stir up the gravel and remove the suspended debris with a cup. (Until you have a more suitable appliance.)

Whats a Venturi Adapter? (And the name is cool to say.)

Hailey already showed this but they do make the mini size gravel cleaners. One of my friends keeps a two gallon tank at his place of work and uses a mini cleaner (don't know the brand) that works very well so I would think a five gallon would be no problem.:)

How about this one? http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752298&keepsr=0 Notice there is a "mini" size that has a 6 inch long, 1 inch wide cylinder. That should be sized just right for you.

I'm not sure if there is a smaller size. my brother went to the petstore and bought 3 different sizes for me. (>.< And that makes me mad cause I told him I would do it!! But then again, if I have went I would have bought some more cute little fishies, and all my tanks are full!)

But there might be some sort of way that you could make one! Although, I don't know what you would use...

5 Gallon Aquarium Siphon

The aquarium Siphon I have is the right size for a 10-gallon-tank. The 5-gallon tank I have is thinner and taller than a normal 5-gallon tank. The 10-gallon siphon is too big for me to clean the gravel. Any suggestions on it? I can't seem to find a smaller version of the aquarium siphon either...
