if your really trying to keep corals make sure u change your bulbs every 6 months-t5 bulbs loose spectrum faster

Sounds like the right light for me then. By the way neptunes plumer the live rock project is going great. The 45 pounds is only about 1 third of the live rock I need but it is looking good. I'll try to get some pics up soon for everyone to see.

Sounds like a good choice to me. I haven't had any personal experience with T5s but haven't heard anything but good things about them.

How did the liverock build go? Would love to see some pics!! :)

I have the same unit you do,it is going on my 75gal. tank and i think I will have enough light to grow most plants. I also like the LED moonlights, it allows the viewing of nocturnal species.It will be hooked up to powerbar will digital timing for 4 of the plugs and constant ons for the other 4 plugs.

Cool seems like i made the right chiose. I am also getting mine from Drs Foster and Smith and it is on back order and should ship next friday. That shipping issue is very unfurtunate hopefully it won't happen with mine. Thanks for your replie.

I have the exact same Nova Extreme set up except I have the 4 bulb version. I bought it earlier this summer from Dr. Foster's Smith. It arrived with all 4 bulbs broken. They immediately sent me replacements that were all fine. I installed them in the fixture with no problem (except for all the splintered glass in there). After using the fixture for less than a week I noticed that one of the bulbs was no longer working. I took the fixture down and made sure the bulb was in place. With the fixture upside-down it worked fine...right-side up it did not. I assumed there was some sort of short or loose wiring in the fixture. They are sending me a replacement fixture (It's on backorder)....Having said all that, I think the fixture is going to be great when I get it swapped out. The blue lights make it seem to glow. The moonlights are really cool also. The lighting is actually good (for me) with only three bulbs. I have some inverts, however, that need the extra 54 watts. The broken bulbs are a definite shipping issue. The loose wiring???

Hey every body just wanted to get your thoughts and opinions on this new lighting system im going to buy. Im getting the Nova extreme T5 48'' lighting system. I am going to get the 432w one with 8 compact T5 florecent tubes, 2 cooling fans, and it also has lunar lights which i thought was really cool. With all of that watage, it will put almost 8w a gallon in my 55g so i should be able to grow all sorts of cool corals. I currently have 1 48'' 40w coralife florecent tube and 2 18'' 26w white florecent tubes on my tank which is only about 2w a gallon. Thats why im upgrading so i can house corals. I would love to hear what every one thinks of my new lighting decision.
