Sister Murdered Jack Dempsey

i come home from school to find my prized 5 year old jack dempsey stuck up against the filter intake tube, DEAD. after a long interogation with my sister i concluded that the evil girl murdered him. i did a thourough investigation of the tank to find a blob of white softsoap floating by the filter tube.

Crab death?

One day I came home and looked in my tank and my crab and a tetra were gone. I looked everywhere but I couldn't find them. There weren't even any remains! What happened?

One of my headlight/taillight tetras died today.

I woke up this morning and it was alive but floating at the top, came home now and it was dead.

Not sure what happend, it looked fine last night when I fed them.

The fish did have what appeared to be injuries to both sides of its body, I am thinking there was a chance it got sucked to the filter intake overnight.

Or his tankmates did it, but they have never picked on each other before. Neon tetra, glowlight tetras and zebra danios are their tank mates.

Ammonia/Nitrite both zero and nitrate under 5ppm.

Just when thought i could save him by giving him the right medicine & putting him in quarintine He died early yesterday of an bacterial infection he had cloud eye real bad

My poor Zebra Danio Stretch got sucked on to the heater and fried alive.

He is Dearly mist by my other Zebras.They don't play tag as much any more but instead search for there departed tank mate.To honor stretch please check all your machinery is running smoothly and safely and give your fish a treat but first a moment of silence,---------Thank you for your time.

The end of an era

well its nice to be back first off i miss talking to everyone here. Its just a shame that the first post i have in the last three or four months has to be this one. I got a phone call from my wife about a week ago and it pains me to say Clyde has passed. This is upsetting to me because one he is my oldest fish and two Bonnie is lost with out him she just seems to hide in her little nest.

I feel bad for Bonnie should i buy another male convect or just let her fly solo until it is her time?

I went away to my aunts for a week and a half, to baby sit her kids. While I was gone, my little sister poured half the fish food into there small 10-gallon tank. Afterwards, she closed the door behind her. Since it was night, and they'd already been fed, nobody was in my room again until about 12:00pm the next day, my mom saw the tank and did a 75% water change, but it was too late, they were already dead. All thats left of the tank is my betta (which had survived the same thing in a different tank...)

My prized albino sailfin pleco finally died. Two monthes ago, I found her wedged in a log. After eighteen days, the hemorages disappeared though she never ate again. So long for now missy. We'll miss you around here.

Moonlight Gourami

One of my moonlight gouramis died . I thought something might be wrong with her... Another moonlight we got at the same time is about twice as big. I found her while scooping my corys for their move into their new tank.

Is it sad to see a dead fish in a fish supply store?

I have seen many fish dead and sometimes they are my favorite. I really don't know if it is sad or not.

I have lost 5 of my 7 Flavus Cichlids due to ammonia poisoning. I learned that i had Cichlid fry that died and were decomposing. I never knew about them. RIP Flavus Cichlids.

Saphir my Ryukin Goldfish died on 7/24/08 around 5pm-6pm EST

I tried to save him from a bacteria infection which looked like Septimicia which he had before with medicine and anti bacteria pellets and which it kept on developing and happened to turn into the dreaded dropsy when his scales started sticking out more and more all over his body.

I have a 55 gallon tropical freshwater community tank. It has a seven mollies (Sailfin and lyretail), a pearl gourami, two chocolate gouramis, eight neon tetras, five zebra danios, four swordtails, and a pleco. I also had a beautiful marble anglefish that was by far my favorite fish. I bought him when he was in the "small" category. Since I got him he grew a good six or seven inches and was the most docile anglefish I've ever seen. Everyone has been happy in my tank and I haven't had a fish die in a good four to six months. Then one morning I was watching my fish and I noticed that the anglefish wasn't in his usual spot in the upper lefthand corner of the tank so I looked around for him and he was upside down resting on the plants but not yet dead. He was trying to straighten himself but his attempts were unsuccessful. He died the next day and I checked the water parameters and everything was normal. It is the wierdest thing and I would just like to know if anyone has any ideas why this sudden and saddening death would occur. The anglefish didn't seem to have oddities on the outside of its body. The other fish all seem to be doing fine. I've had the fish for about 8 months before its death. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Goodbye my little dwarf gourami Thylesia, I don't know what happened. But I found you stuck to the intake of my filter. When I first got her she was really shy, but soon she got aquainted after a week or so and would come up to the front to say hi to me. I know she was really a he, maybe that upset him so much he offed himself That's a morbid joke I know I shouldn't have :unsure:, but he was so pretty and colorful I gave him a girls name :) He will be missed though!

Memo-Erik Died this morning

I lost one female and then 4 days later bam and then next day bam!!! Lost little Renoir and then the last female guppy

We named him Renoir because of his pretty yellow's and blue's he looked like a sparkly paintbrush. I believe he was just an adolescent as he was very small. He was very rambunctious bursting with energy & lots of personality. He was my first guppy I was really excited to see if I'd get fry, but he was silly and much perferred the sunburst platies colors, to the black and silver female guppies . I hope to have guppies again, but for now he will be missed, he was a lot of fun to watch. I wished I had gotten a picture of him. We'd only had him and the girls less then a month, that is why the females didn't even get names yet. The picture below is exactly what he looked like though, of course in person he had that metallic glow that guppies have. Very handsome :)

P.S. it's in my sig too, but some of you have that disabled from viewing so just attatched to see how pretty he was!

Lost all eight of my African Dwarf Frogs

I came back from a work trip, (had a familly member looking after critters) and all 8 of my African Dwarf Frogs were dead! They were in a nice , well filtered 5 gallon tank and I had them for 4 years like that! I'm soo sad, the males used to do their little buzzing noise at night. The only thing I can think of is it's the only tank I have that doesn't have a surge arrest bar on it. Maybe a power surge toasted them?! Sob... Sob...

So sad I'm posting in this forum so soon. I came down from work yesterday and saw one of my ADF's hanging from the intake valve. His whole leg was in there and he drown to death I immediatley put pantyhose over the intake to protect any other fish/frog from an accident. I should've known better, but that's in hind sight.

Pregnant Black Balloon Molly dies Sunday afternoon

Well its was a Sad day Sunday to find my Pregnant Black Balloon Molly laying on the bottom of the tank. One minute shes swimming around looking like shes about to give birth, the next she is gone. Good bye Miss Molly you will be missed.

Discus Died

I lost a Discus today. I witnessed what happened but I can't explain why. He was swimming with the other ones then decided to run at the glass at full speed. He hit the glass so hard that it killed him almost instantly. I checked for the water and it was fine. I have no idea what could have cause him to do that.....
