I am sincerely sorry to hear how your Aquapuppy died - I will never grow to old not to shed a tear for these animals.....

Although you corrected the cause of death - you raise an important safety issue -

Three points;

1. Yes - let no one tell you they do not miss their companions when they are noi longer in the tank - THEY DO; As in the case of my Thurston and Lovie -

Thurston died suddenly due to a clogged sperm duct. For days - Lovie could be seen searching throughout the 100 gallon tank - their is a connection with these animals that we do not understand

2. May I make a suggestion. You can stop that from ever hapopening again. On-line fish supply companies - like Drs foster and Smith - carry "in-line" heaters - these are placed in your filter outlet line and are not submerged in the tank - , I use them all the time simnce a friend almost died from electric shock when his heater element broke but he was not aware when he placed his hand in the tank.

3. Purchase a "grounding line" - they are made for fish tanks specifically. They bleed off excess static electricity and protect against accidental shock. Some diseases - in fish, such as Hole in the head - are claimed to be partly caused by static buildup

Best wishes - I hope you take my suggestions seriously - they could save the life of future aquapuppies or your own....

I'm sorry for your loss. Some people outside the hobby don't understand that hobbiest get attached to their fish and understandably so. Hopefully you don't have to go through this sad experience again for a long time

My poor Zebra Danio Stretch got sucked on to the heater and fried alive.

He is Dearly mist by my other Zebras.They don't play tag as much any more but instead search for there departed tank mate.To honor stretch please check all your machinery is running smoothly and safely and give your fish a treat but first a moment of silence,---------Thank you for your time.
