They will live a shorter lifespan than that if you only feed them on fishfood leftovers, but I don't know by how much. Apple snails can get to be a decent size and eventually, that just won't be enough food for them.<br>Keep the water quality right and supplement the food occasionally with high-calcium foods like spinach, for example. I have a better list of foods somewhere, but it's my bedtime. Keep their water conditions right and don't let them develop shell problems and they'll last you several years.</P><P>Your snails will do an excellent job of feeding themselves off of what your fish leave behind - as long as you're feeding your fish properly, there will be some leftovers, and the snails will eat that.
