There are just too many options, so research on your part is the first step. Then we can answer more specific questions. In general though you want to start with the largest tank you can afford, and a very light bioload of one small (3-4 inch or less), peaceful fish per 10 gallons or so. I wouldn't start will less than a 40g. For now though I would get yourself a copy of The Conscientious Marine Aquarist or other well respected beginner marine book (not all are made equally...some beginner saltwater books are terrible). You can also read on Wetwebmedia (read everything you can in the set up 1+2 sections, as well as maintenance/operation and about livestock). This reading will answer many of your questions.

First saltwater tank

I want to get a saltwater tank in the future.
