Hi I have a 20 gallon tank, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 10, ph 7.4. I have a glowlight tetra, his gills seem to be pointing outward more than the other tetras, he is still acting fine but I can now see red/pink. I dont know if this is gill rot or something, and not sure if I should treat the tank, or if it is contagious? I checked out the rest of the tetras tonight and it seems that there might be a couple of other ones with the same thing (just starting), but I could also be looking too closely in fear that there is a problem. Please help!

20g

10 glowlight tetras
6 hifin platies
4 panda corys

Make sure there are at least 6 of them. If with at least 6 of their kind, it'll keep stress minimal because they know others are around. Don't try adding more tetras if you have a lower number than 6. It might rouse some aggression and stress them more.

Stress limits the immune system's power. It's actually very strong but the thing that limits it is stress. So to keep them comfortable, do a 25-50% water change either everyday or every other day.

Any weird behavior? Anything changed? (i.e. new fish, new water conditioner, new water source)

Can you post a pic?

I can't find gill rot anywhere on the net?  Is that the proper term?  I would like to see what it looks like.

Yes -- you are probably looking too closely.

I don't know of anything called "gill rot". Is the fish eating?
