If you are really interested in plants for the aquaria, you have to check out "The 101 Best Aquarium Plants" by Mary E. Sweeney. I have a few reference guides I like to use, but for the price of 18.95, it is by far the best book for the bang.

Does anyone else have a few good plants books they can recommend?

The only book I have is one called Fishkeeper's Guide to Aquarium Plants. It is a very practical, or basic reference but it really helped me start to learn the basics of aquarium plants.

I've wanted that Sweeney book for a long time.  I've read so many great reviews about it from places like Amazon, and I sure do want/need a comprehensive species guide for plants.

My old Simon and Schuster's Complete Guide to Freshwater and Marine Aquarium Fishes (wow, what a title) includes a plant section with profiles and pics of 38 aquatic plants, some of which aren't common in the hobby anymore.  But considering it was published in 1976, the current info leaves much to be desired!  For the base info and pictures, though, I still like using it.
