I have a 10 gallon aquarium with one regular white fluorescent light (not a Gro-Lite) and a UV light. I had a pygmy chain sword plant but it never took root and eventually was pulled loose. Does anyone know of any plants that do well in low light?

| One flourescent light? Compact flourescent? How many watts? Here are some EXTREMELY hardy low-light plants: Java Fern Java Moss Other Mosses Anubias sp You may have trouble with the Anubias, like algae growing on it, especially the dreaded Black Beard Algae.

| It's pretty easy to get good light in a 10g tank, so you may be surprised at what you have the capability to grow. And special "plant lights" aren't really needed; what matters is the raw intensity of the light itself. As long as light, nutrients, and carbon dioxide are present, plants are happy. Different bulbs are actually made more for us, by making plants/decor/fish appear better, than for the livestock. Just check the wattage of the bulb and we'll see how things shape up. :)

| here is a list of low light plants. http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_list.php?category=1&filter_by=2 30 watts standard t8 bulbs should be plenty for these plants. I'm not a fan of the spiral bulbs myself but they do work. make sure that the color spectrum on the bulbs are between 6000K-10,000K
