| Hi everyone, I'm kinda new to FC and have some questions. First how do you get pics up that won't take up the whole screen? I've been trying and can't seem to get it to work. Also how do you get a pic with your name? I have some pics of my daddy betta guarding his nest and of the mom I would like to post but they are so big you can't see it correctly. Thanks for any advice. Here is what I mean:

| Hi, Welcome to FishChannel. I edited your picture for you. You will need to use some kind of software to edit your pictures, so you can crop them and resize them. Sometimes these programs are already installed on your computer, or you can buy them or download them for free. Also, you can change the setting on your camera so the pics are smaller, it looks like it was quite a large file size. You can also host your files on another site, but others can help you with that better than I can. Good luck, F.M.

| Welcome to FishChannel! I look forward to your posts. Microsoft Paint is a great tool for fiddling with pictures, and a lot of the time your camera software will do it as well. In Paint, just choose "Paste" or "Paste From" to get the image up, then head to the top to "Images" where you can select "Resize/Skew." After you do that, the "Crop" button in the same category will reduce the bitmap (all that extra white space) to the size of the picture. Then you're ready to go. I use Photobucket for my file hosting. It's free and also has editing software built in so you can upload your pics and then alter them in many different ways before putting them into a forum like this. Well, I hope that helped. You can also post any photography questions into the Photography forum, where it may get more attention.

| Welcome to FishChannel! To me, I don't think file hosting is needed. Microsoft Paint or Office Picture Manager will do. First, go right-click the photo you would like to resize, edit, skew, etc. Then, drag your mouse over to "Open With" and a new list should open up to the right/left. From there, click Microsoft Office Picture Manager and begin editing. I tend to resize my pictures to 600 pixels on the largest pixel value. So, if the length is longer than the width, I resize it to the closest as possible to 600. If width is longer than length, do it likewise. Hope this helps. Be sure to post your pics so the FishChannel world can see!
